National Puppy Day is March 23, and its message to “adopt instead of shop” is an important reminder that we can save a life by opening our hearts and homes to an animal from a shelter, instead of from a pet store or breeder.

Facebook’s Sheryl Sandberg and Girls Who Code, a nonprofit tech group, recently hosted the first Female Governor’s Summit in Menlo Park. The summit focused on strategies to combat the gender gap in technology by taking the fight locally to the states.

Tuesday, March 7, will be the Los Angeles county wide Consolidated Municipal and Special Elections, This year voters will decide whether or not they wish to chip in another quarter of a cent for sales tax for the next ten years with and including an independent annual audit and citizens oversight

I drive up and down Studebaker Road several times a week and I drive by the new bollards for the bike lanes. During my drives I have never seen a bicycle in the designated bicycle lane. I would think that on weekends the lanes could be quite busy, but I have not observed that yet.
