One of the issues that Ms. Lorentzen deals with [Letters, Jan. 17] is the question: What level of formal education and/or direct experience with the issue-at-hand do we require before giving credence to a scientist or any other supposed expert?

I just saw Elon Musk’s new “pick-up truck.” Have any of the people who designed that thing ever used a truck, driven a truck or even ridden in a truck? Its beds are too small. It’s too low to the ground. About the only thing it is, is it isn’t a truck at all.
