Tropical Pacific Tours

Virtual tours of the Aquarium of the Pacific’s Tropical Pacific Gallery are now available on Sundays at 12:45 p.m. Reservations are available for $10 per household. Viewers will virtually dive into colorful coral reefs as they experience a guided tour of the gallery and see the aquarium’s newest exhibit, Coral Reefs: Nature’s Underwater Cities.

Because this exhibit was only open to the public for a brief time during the summer due to closures associated with the pandemic, the aquarium is sharing it with the public now through this virtual tour. Viewers will hear from the animal experts, have the chance to ask questions and see Sula, the red-footed booby, as she flies through the Tropical Tunnel.

The aquarium also offers virtual tours of its Northern Pacific Gallery, featuring sea jellies, sea otters and diving birds, on Saturdays at 1:30 p.m. The public can learn more or purchase tickets by calling (562) 590-3100 or visiting aquariumofpacific.org.

Winter Kids Club

From Jan. 4 to 8, the Aquarium of the Pacific will offer its Winter Kids Club as part of its Online Academy programming. This will include the existing Online Academy classes bundled with at-home activities, like scavenger hunts, crafts, coloring sheets and guided explorations of the aquarium’s exhibit webcams.

Half-hour online classes led by an aquarium educator for various grade levels will be offered each day at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and 12 noon. Classes are available for the following grade levels: pre-K to kindergarten, kindergarten to second grade, third to fifth grade and sixth to twelfth grade. No sign-ups are required and participation is free.

The Winter Kids Club is part of the Aquarium of the Pacific’s Online Academy, which offers free live and on-demand educational resources for both kids and adults.

Take Out Tuesday

Start the New Year with take-out from Naples Rib Company on Tuesday, Jan. 5. Call (562) 439 7427 to order and let them know you are supporting St. Bartholomew’s Church. Proceeds go to local charities supported by St. Bartholomew Women’s Council. Take out is available from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at 5800 E. 2nd Street in Naples. Happy dining to you and a Happy New Year too.
