‘Into the Woods’
Axis Theater will present “Into the Woods,” the Tony Award-winning musical by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine. It tells the tale of a Baker and his wife, who in their quest to have a child, make a bargain with a vindictive witch.
As they journey into the woods, they come in contact with an array of fairy tale characters including Cinderella, Jack, Rapunzel, a wolf, a giant, and even a handsome prince, or two. In the end, the characters are forced to experience the unplanned consequences of their actions.
One of Sondheim’s most popular works, “Into the Woods” is a masterful, musical journey for audiences 7 and up.
Performances will be presented July 14 and 15 at 7 p.m., and July 16 at 2 p.m. at Huntington Beach Historic Theater, 1905 Main Street, Huntington Beach.
