December 29

Veterans Park (Wrigley district): At approximately. 11:15 p.m. two male adults told LBPD they were in the park when unknown suspects in a dark-colored sedan drove-by, fired shots and fled. Two vehicles struck by gunfire but no persons reported hit.

December 28

9th St./Magnolia Ave.: In the 1 a.m. hour, a hit/run; 4 door vehicle fled from the scene, victim seen walking/limping away

100 block W. Taper St. (south of Wardlow Rd, west of 710): Midnight hour; gunfire as someone shot out of a vehicle window, no persons hit.

December 27

LB Blvd./Scott St. (NW NLB): In midnight hour, a man is shot/wounded, multiple parked vehicles are hit, at a least two houses were struck by gunfire. LBFD took the victim to a hospital and he’s in stable condition.

December 26

Redondo/10th St.: Vehicle collision with one vehicle flipped over but no patients trapped.

Area Del Amo/Orange: Roughly 30-50 vehicles speeding and trying to race; when LBPD arrives, vehicles start leaving.

December 25

Carson Park area: Catalytic converter theft from a truck in broad daylight.

Willow/Studebaker: About 9:30 p.m., raw sewage and water coming from sewer. The next day, LB’s Health Dept says in a release that the LA County Dept. of Sanitation said about 50,000 gallons of sewage was discharged into the Los Cerritos Channel in LB on Dec. 26 by loss of power at a pump station.

405 southbound at southbound Bellflower Blvd. Multi vehicle collision; one vehicle flipped over; 405 closed for considerable period.

Obispo/Anaheim: In the 9 a.m. hour, one vehicle (and possibly two) strike a pedestrian.

December 23

1000 block Obispo Ave.: A man is shot/wounded.

300 block E. Wardlow Rd.: About 10:30 p.m. an adult female allegedly in the roadway and not in a crosswalk is struck by a vehicle. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. The 65-year-old driver remained on scene and cooperated with LBPD’s investigation which found alcohol, drugs and distracted driving weren’t believed to have been factors in the collision. The driver had a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and was released from the scene, pending further investigation.

December 19

Area 4th St. between Obispo/Freeman, a pickup truck is stolen.

December 15

1200 block LB Blvd: 2 a.m. hour: A 68-year-old Long Beach man, a pedestrian, is struck/killed by a driver LBPD says allegedly lost control of their vehicle at LB Blvd/Anaheim St., struck/killed the pedestrian and hit a tree and a parked vehicle, then fled the scene. LBPD found the vehicle unoccupied nearby.
