Long Beach Blvd. and 37th St. At 2:52 p.m., a male driving a vehicle was no-hit shot at by a possible road enraged male Hispanic driver.

Redondo Ave. and Ocean Blvd. At 9:30 p.m. a bus stop stabbing left the victim with non-life-threatening upper body wounds. The stabbee and a nearby male non-victim subdued Ruben Lopez, 35, of Long Beach. $30,000 bail.

Friday, May 28

3600 Block of Santa Fe Ave. At 11:20 p.m., 17-year-old Guillermo Mayorga III, of Riverdale, Georgia attempted a robbery in a parking lot of the Arlington Motel. The victim fought back, another person attempted to help Mayorga, who shot the victim and helper. Another man arrived to shoot and kill Mayorga. The victim fled to the motel, treated with stable vital signs. Gang-related crime is suspected. Survivors? Police are looking.

Saturday, May 29

3400 block of E. Artesia Blvd. A 3 p.m. punch in the face was the gratuity left by a female fast food free-lance critic claiming “they didn’t make the food correct.”

Second St. near Ravenna Dr. At 8:45 p.m. a 43-year-old man suffered non-life-threatening stab wounds to his “upper extremities” after an argument with a suspect who foot-fled westbound.

900 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. At 11 p.m. a man was shot and hospitalized in stable condition; alleged suspect fled in a possible dark sedan.

Sunday, May 30

Pine Ave. near Seaside Way. At 2:40 a.m., 27 and 32-year old men suffered non-life-threatening upper body stab wounds. Security guards detained 50-year-old Kendall Smith, of Los Angeles. Police then arrested him for assault with a deadly weapon. Bail $60,000.

Sixth St. and Locust Ave. At 5:30 a.m., another 43-year-old man was stabbed by an alleged woman who supposedly knew him.

1000 block of Hoffman Ave. At 11:21 p.m. A bullet tore through a wall of an apartment, hitting a 20-year-old woman; later in stable condition. The next apartment’s 15-year-old female was booked on firearms-related charges. The teen’s relative at the scene, Ruby Jene Ibarra faced child cruelty and criminal storage of a firearm charges. Bail at $100,000.

Monday, May 31

2500 block of Long Beach Blvd. At 10:42 a.m., Jamie Gatewood, 39, a homeless female laying under a pile of blankets in a parking stall was fatally struck by a 2010 Scion XB driven by a 27-year-old Los Angeles man, who was cooperative.

Wednesday, June 2

1000 block of Dawson Ave. At 11:33 p.m., Crystal Gonzalez, 19, was shot in the upper body, dying three days later. Luis Alberto Oros, 22, of Long Beach whom she was dating was arrested for attempted murder, which will be upgraded to murder if police have their way. Bail at $1M.

Thursday, June 3

Fifth St. and Maine Ave. At 2:30 a.m., a 35-year-old man was shot in the upper body with non-life-threatening injuries and an inability to cooperate with police.

Broadway and Orange Ave. At 3:04 a.m., a 28-year-old man argued with a woman. Another woman drew a gun, fired at the man, missed, departed. Keishon Bradford, 47, of Long Beach was arrested for attempted murder and criminal threats, bail at $1M.

Friday, June 4 

Barclay St. and Long Beach Blvd. At 7 p.m., a 40ish man in a vehicle suffered gunshot wounds to his chest, dying at a hospital. A four-door gangster grey sedan fled on Harcourt Street.

Anaheim St. and Redondo Ave. After an 8:15 p.m. After a Honda Civic and a small sports vehicle collided, the drivers traded punches, escalating into the passengers hugging each other. Police arrived to restore distance.

Monday, June 6

100 block West Forhan St. At 10:35 p.m., Jerrell Lee Belvin, 31, of Los Angeles was shot and killed by two assailants in dark clothing and masks, fleeing on foot.

91 Freeway at the 710 Freeway. In a 11:30 p.m. unwanted freeway adventure, a woman driving a blue Kia Optima saw a grey Honda Accord speeding in the number one lane behind her. The Honda got ahead of her vehicle, then “brake checked” her Kia. The Honda veered off toward the I-710 transition road; the woman heard two loud bangs. The woman later found two bullet holes on the passenger side. Adventure concluded.

Thursday, June 10 

Long Beach Blvd. at 67th St. At 11:30 a.m., an early 1990s white Ford Explorer struck a mother and child as they prepared to cross the boulevard and drove away. Arriving officers rushed the injured boy to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries; the mother, uninjured. On June 11, Burnett Livingston, 62, of Compton was arrested for hit-and-run, released on own recognicance.

Long Beach Harbor. At 5:15 p.m., Keion Dade, 24, of Moreno Valley, fell or jumped from the Catalina Express on its way to Avalon. He didn’t grab at a life preserver thrown his way, has been missing ever since. According to the Catalina Islander, on Jan. 18, 2020, Dade was arrested for vandalism at 1 Cabrillo Mole in Avalon. “Mr. Dade was allegedly causing a disturbance at the Mole and ultimately damaged one of the fish food dispensers.”
