2300 block of Bellflower Blvd. At 1:45 p.m., at a salon, a man asked for a haircut. Told he needed an appointment, he lingered inside the salon, went outside, sat down on a chair facing the window and exposed his genitals. Employees closed the blinds as the man enjoyed himself after moving his chair in front of the shop’s no-blinds door. Locking the door and calling the cops, employees waited for about 40 minutes, calling the cops twice more, before the man picked up his goods. split. In an interview, an employee said the salon specializes in “extensions.” Not that kind of extensions.

300 block of Pine Ave. At 4:55 p.m., police heard gunshots, located a female “potential” gunshot victim, non-life-threatening wounds to the lower body. Police detained a person of interest, seized a firearm, located shell casings, other evidence of a shooting.

Sunday, April 17

East 10th St. near Wilson High School. At 2 a.m., a man was walking when approached by a woman who shot him causing non-life-threatening injuries.

400 block of West Anaheim St. At 5:25 a.m., a man involved in a dispute with a man inside a dark-colored sedan got shot. Taken to the hospital, condition: stable.

20th St. and Cedar Ave. At 5 p.m., police responded to a man-with-a-gun and striking a woman call. The gun part caused activation of a SWAT team and a perimeter. A 23-year-old suspect was taken into custody at 7:54 p.m. Booked for inflicting corporal injury, making death threats and assault with a deadly weapon, bail: $50,000.

Willow St. Although the gas station at Costco had already closed, drivers in search of fuel were continuing to pump gas through an unspecified process at 9 p.m. It is unclear who accepted the payment-in-full they no doubt made.

Monday, April 18

Elm Ave. and First St. A guy with a crowbar vandalized an available parked car at 4:30 p.m., advancing his issues toward Linden, then began to pick a fight, onto Atlantic. The driver of the vandalized car drove away, leaving no victim upon which police could act.

Tuesday, April 19

72nd Pl. and Ocean Blvd. At 6:26 p.m., a man shot into the ocean at the end of the Peninsula. Manuel Chavez, 53 of Wilmington was booked for possession of a firearm and discharging a firearm. No sea creatures were reported hit. With a zero-dollar bail, Chavez was sprung Wednesday at 8:36 a.m.

4300 block of Ocean Blvd. While practicing a dance routine in a beach parking lot, Justin Morris, 27, got into a fight with a several males, one shooting him to death at 10:30 p.m. Police are looking for the group.

Wednesday, April 20

Pacific Coast Hwy. at Harbor Ave. At 11:35 p.m., a woman was in a marked crosswalk when hit by a westbound Toyota Avalon sedan which parked in front of a drinking establishment at the 2300 block of Santa Fe Avenue with heavy windshield damage and dented hood. Believing the driver went into the bar, police did not locate the offender. But they do have the offending vehicle.

Thursday, April 21

400 block of Atlantic Ave. At 1:54 a.m., police found two victims who said they’d been robbed of personal property by two men with a handgun and pepper spray. That was just the start.

700 block of E. Shoreline Dr. At 3:14 a.m., two males took a shot at a man and woman, missed, stole the woman’s car keys, forced the man at gunpoint to find the woman’s car, stole it to escape. Police located the vehicle in the 1600 block of Pacific Coast Highway, two men, a boy and a woman inside. One of the men fled on foot, the other man and the boy were arrested, the woman was not arrested. The missing man who fled turned himself in. Joshua Lima, 19, of Oceanside was arrested for carjacking, robbery, assault with a firearm, receiving stolen property, bail: $100,000. George Wills, 18 of Oceanside was charged with the same, except the firearm, bail: $50,000. A 16-year-old Altadenan, charged with firearm-related and robbery-related crimes and theft.

4200 block of Long Beach Blvd. At 8:30 a.m., an “erect” man walked down the boulevard. What? Was he expected to be stooped over? At 9:35 a.m., said man began removing his clothing.

Friday, April 22

3300 block of Andy St. At 2:17 p.m., several men in a light-colored sedan shot a man and a woman in a parked vehicle. Jimmy Ray Hawkins Jr., 47, of Bellflower died, the female, in critical but stable condition. Gang related is suspected.

Saturday, April 23

Seventh St. and Loma Ave. At 11:45 a.m., a sedan with several riders, one of whom was masked, fired into a gas station.

Sunday, April 24

Studebaker Rd. and Loynes Dr. At 7:15 p.m., a 1993 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Jeremy Chavez, 32, of Los Alamitos lost control at high speed, struck the center median and collided into the concrete barrier at the Los Cerritos Channel. Despite efforts of passersby, he died at the scene.
