755 W. Willow St. Several restaurants along this main corridor, including La Esquinita Mexican Grill suffered vandalism damage a total of four times since October 2021.

Atlantic Ave. and 19th St. At 9:17 p.m. a southbound motorcyclist on Atlantic Avenue was killed when the driver of a 2014 Toyota Tundra driven by a 59-year-old Long Beach resident, pulled out in front of him while attempting a left turn.

1100 block of Queens Hwy. South. At 10:14 p.m., a man was stabbed in a non-life-threatening way in the upper body.

5500 block of Dairy Ave. At 11:45 p.m., a male pedestrian was approached by another man driving a dark-colored vehicle. The suspect said something to the victim, concluding the encounter with a shooting, missing the victim.

Sunday, September 18

1100 block of Euclid Ave. At 12:48 a.m., police found evidence, including casings, pointing to a shooting, the kind with no injuries, no shooters, no weapons, only an investigation.

Monday, September 19

CSULB. According to the Daily 49er, as a La F.U.E.R.Z.A Student Association meeting about defunding campus police ended, Turning Point USA (TPUSA) protesters from Fullerton State and CSULB State arrived, one holding a sign that read, “Defunding never works, bozos.” The demonstrators argued loudly in the hallway. TPUSA called campus police, three officers arrived ten minutes later, one of whom argued with La F.U.E.R.Z.A demonstrators calling police departments “white supremacist institutions.” Officers created a barricade between TPUSA protesters and La F.U.E.R.Z.A demonstrators. Police detained one TPUSA protester, then both crews left for the evening.

Thursday, September 22

1900 block East Del Amo Blvd. At 1:45 a.m., a male pulled a handgun to steal money from the register and a few cartons of cigarettes. He then left, meaning his identity could not be smoked out.

Friday, September 23

2030 E. Fourth St. Someone smashed through the glass on the front door of Lola’s Mexican Cuisine on Retro Row at 4 a.m., but they fled before taking anything of value, according to the owner. Reported as a burglary, when police responded at 8:50 a.m. and discovered nothing was taken, they downgraded it to vandalism.

5500 block of Atlantic Ave. At 4:02 a.m., a woman was shot in a non-life-threatening way in the lower body and was taken to a hospital. Police found bullet casings.

2000 block of Long Beach Blvd. At 9:43 p.m., a man went to a hospital with non-life threatening stab wounds to the upper body telling police how he’d been approached by a man, who stabbed and split. The victim self-transported to a hospital.

4600 block of Long Beach Blvd. At 10:48 p.m., a female pedestrian heard shots being fired in her direction. Not hit, she ran from the area. Police found casings and evidence, meant it happened.

Saturday, September 24

5700 block of Ackerfield Ave. At 3:48 a.m., a man experienced non-life threatening gunshot wounds to the lower body while he was walking in the area.

900 block of Via Carmelitos. At 7:29 p.m., officers responded to a no-hit shooting, when they spotted a suspect vehicle and engaged in a department-authorized vehicle pursuit. When the vehicle stopped, three teens, two 15-year-old males and a 16-year-old male fled on foot. All three and two firearms were taken into custody.

Sunday, September 25

1800 block of Palmer Ct. At 4:34 a.m., a no-hit shooting report turned into an arrest of a prohibited person in possession of ammunition, possession of a controlled substance, and an outstanding warrant, all of which meant booking this man in the city jail.

Monday, September 26

2500 block of Long Beach Blvd. At 3:21 p.m., the boulevard was closed between Willow and Hill on accounta’ suspicious device found in a trailer on 25th Street east of Long Beach Boulevard, which the L.A. County Sheriff bomb squad rendered safe, reopening the area at 7:10 p.m. Residents had been evacuated and the Blue Line was also stopped.

Tuesday, September 27

Seventh St. and Chestnut Ave. At 7:10 a.m. a man on a westbound scooter ran a red light and collided with a northbound 2018 Chrysler 300 driven by a 59-year-old Long Beach woman. Bystanders rendered aid to the scooter rider, but he died after being transported to a hospital. The driver of the Chrysler remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

100 block of W. Fifth St. At 2:44 p.m., two men argued, one of whom pulled a pepper ball gun and shot him, causing non-life-threatening injuries.

2000 block of Beverly Pl. At 10:27 p.m., someone shot a gun, leaving the appropriate evidence.

Friday, September 30

1400 block of Pacific Ave. At 9:30 p.m., as a group was fighting in an alley, a woman walked by and heard gunshots. That’s when she realized she’d been hit with non-life threatening gunshot wounds in the upper body. Police were unable to locate a crime scene.

Saturday, October 1

3300 block of South St. At 6:41 a.m., shots were fired, but both the intended victim and shooter fled. Only casings remained, but weren’t talking.
