2200 block Spaulding St. LBPD responds to no-person-hit shooting. Officers find evidence of a shooting to an occupied residence in the form of strike marks.

June 13

L.A. River at 710, man is stabbed.

June 9

2500 block E. PCH Man is fatally shot. LBPD follows investigative leads and a few hours later arrests a man (on suspicion of murder) and a woman (suspicion of helping him flee) at a hotel in 4500 block of Slauson Avenue in LA.

June 6

400 block of E. 16th St. At approximately 11:20 p.m., callers report shots heard in the area of Elm Avenue. Responding officers find bullet casings in the street but no victims came forward and no vehicles or structures hit.

17th/Gundry Ave. Vehicle containing four men (described as male blacks) pulled up to a group of subjects standing in the area. LBPD says “Two of the suspects exited the vehicle with guns and fired into the group. Two adult females were struck by the gunfire. Both received non-life threatening injuries and were treated at a local hospital.”

June 5

Bellflower Blvd/Anaheim Rd. multi-vehicle crash but no patients trapped.

June 4

Ocean Blvd. at 7th Place Off duty LBPD Officer Anton Fischer perishes in an afternoon traffic accident on his way to work. He joined LBPD in 2017. He was 33 years old.

Junipero Ave./1st St. At midmorning a man is stabbed.

June 2

Citywide Councilwoman Mungo tells KNX/1070 Newsradio that about 170 Long Beach businesses were damaged in May 31-June 1 looting and vandalism. A few days later, LBPD says during civil unrest it arrested 24 adults and 2 juveniles (various felonies) and cited 56 persons. PD says it’s now reviewing video evidence for possible additional arrests.

[Looting occurred in multiple parts of Long Beach from roughly 5 p.m. May 31 into overnight/early a.m. hours June 1.]

May 31

3000 block E. Anaheim St., about 8:45 p.m. victim driving when someone shoots at him; rounds miss hitting driver, damage his vehicle [see below item 15 minutes earlier].

Anaheim St./Alamitos Ave. about 8:30 p.m. victim shot/wounded, victim was driving when he was shot. [Occurred during civil unrest/looting in separated locations]

1700 block Pine Ave. At 1:45 a.m. a man shoots at three men and two women, misses hitting them. Rounds strike/damage multiple parked vehicles.
