PCH between Bellflower Blvd./Loynes Dr. about 5:45 p.m. A man that locals believe is homeless, previously observed throwing objects at passing vehicles, walked into the middle of PCH and, witnesses say, threw a bicycle, causing a vehicle to swerve to avoid hitting him. LBPD PIO Brandon Fahey says four vehicles were involved (minor to moderate damage) in the resulting collision and confirms: “Several of the involved parties stated that a male pedestrian ran into the street with an object, causing one of the parties to quickly apply their brakes.” PIO Fahey says the male subject fled the scene prior to police arriving. That action arguably turns what took place into a non-injury hit and run.
