Ocean Blvd./Promenade: Homeless man stabbed to death after altercation with one or more suspects.

October 4

1100 block E. 10th St. Shortly before midnight, three year old child and man (adult) are shot/wounded; LBPD finds/arrests Cerritos man as suspect (possibly known to victim).

October 3

Bellflower Blvd. near Harvey Way: At approximately 3 p.m. LBPD officers dispatched to overturned vehicle; LBFD responded and transported a man (adult) to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  LBPD’s Collision Investigation Detail is investigating.

October 2-4

Multiple NLB shootings. On Oct. 4, a man is shot/wounded in the 5500 block of Myrtle Ave; on Oct. 3, a man is shot/wounded in 6700 block of Myrtle Ave. (two miles north of Oct. 3 shooting.) Oct. 2: Man is shot/wounded: 3400 block E. 67th St.

October 1

900 block Obispo (Rose Park neighborhood) Midnight hour, man is fatally shot.

September 29

PCH south of Loynes Dr.: At approximately 5 p.m.  four vehicles collided; six occupants transported to hospitals, one pronounced deceased at the  scene.  LBPD says 2015 Nissan Altima driven by 31-year-old Norwalk resident traveling  southbound  on  PCH “at a high  rate of speed” allegedly swerved into oncoming northbound traffic, struck a 1994 Nissan truck and a 2010 Toyota Prius and pushed Prius into oncoming traffic where it was struck by 2008 Honda. LBFD transported three of four occupants from the Nissan to hospitals but one of its occupants, a 30-year-old LA resident, was deceased at the scene.  LBPD arrested the Nissan’s driver on suspicion of murder and DUI.

September 26

PCH/Ximeno: At approximately 7:15 p.m., collision between motorcycle and vehicle in which motorcyclist (24 year old man, resident of Orange) didn’t survive. LBPD says motorcyclist was westbound on PCH when the driver of a 2012 Porsche Panamera pulled out from a parking lot in front of the motorcycle. “Neither distracted or impaired driving were factors in this collision,” LBPD says.

West Long Beach: At approximately 12:15 a.m. officers were dispatched to the area of Technology Place and Pacific Coast Highway, regarding an injury traffic collision, which resulted in the death of a male adult. Upon arrival, officers found a 2013 Ram 1500 pick-up truck that had been traveling at a high rate of speed and rear-ended a tractor-trailer stopped at a traffic light in the westbound lanes. The 40-year-old driver, a resident of Long Beach, was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries sustained during the collision.

September 25

Gumbiner Park: About 5:30 a.m. a man is fatally shot in the street media across from the Museum of Latin American Art.

Cherry/45th Street: At approximately 6:30 p.m. a traffic collision between a vehicle and a tree resulted in the death of a male adult. The driver, an 18-year-old resident of the City of Paramount, succumbed to his injuries at the scene and no other persons were involved in the collision. The preliminary investigation revealed the 2002 Subaru WRX was traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on Cherry Avenue in the southbound lanes when the driver lost control of the vehicle, struck the center divider, then the east curb and struck the tree.
