Q&A: LB Certified Fitness

John Tosdal

During the pandemic, many of us have let our physical fitness slip. LB Certified Fitness has a unique approach that just might interest you. I had a conversation with Zach Rowe, owner of LB Certified Fitness, about their programs for in-home fitness training and their all-encompassing approach to bringing health and fitness back into your life.

The big gyms are here in town - Planet Fitness, Gold’s Gym, LA Fitness. Why use LB Certified Fitness?

We stand out from the big commercial gyms because we’re an at-home training service. Schedule with your trainer when you would like to work out and they come directly to your house with all the equipment that’s needed. We guide you through a workout that’s suited towards your goals.

What are your credentials, Zach?

B.S. Kinesiology, NASM Certified Personal Trainer, ACE Health Coach, Brain Health Trainer

What are the common needs of your clients in the 50+ age group?

Fall prevention, improving activities of daily living, and brain health are the 3 primary needs.

How does someone get started at LB Certified Fitness?

We offer a free orientation session where you’ll meet with a trainer to discuss your fitness goals, perform assessments, and create a plan to help you reach those goals.

Describe your Assisted Mobility and Stretching session.

First, we start with assessing your mobility and flexibility throughout your body. We explain why restrictions in your mobility or flexibility could cause issues if they’re not addressed. Then, use a combination of assisted stretching, myofascial release, and mobility exercises to improve the restrictions.

Do clients come to you, or do you do home visits?

We go to our clients. We do all our training at your home.

Do you customize your programs based on an individual’s needs?

All our programs are based on the client’s goals and physical capabilities. No two people are the same, so our programs reflect that.

Do you offer any introductory programs for people to try your services?

We offer one free orientation session. This will help further explain what we would be doing on a week-to-week basis and if LB Certified Fitness is the right fit for you.

Do you offer services to local employers?

Yes, we offer employee health and wellness programs for employers. There are many benefits for both employees and employers such as managing chronic illnesses that are costly and could potentially take employees out of work. As well, it can improve team morale and build a deeper team connection.

What’s your greatest success story at LB Certified Fitness?

My longest standing client is Barbara. When she first came to me looking for personal training, she had a couple of scary falls and was recently diagnosed with osteoporosis. Now, over 4 years later, she has reversed her osteoporosis, is much more confident in doing the things she loves and is able to keep up with her grandson.
