Three Mobile Vaccination Clinics Deployed

Benny Morales

For about two weeks now, the Long Beach Health Department has taken steps to vaccinate people for their COVID-19 shot in hard hit areas of the City of Long Beach. These mobile vaccination clinics are spread throughout the city in three different parks.

Mayor Robert Garcia said earlier this March, “We’re committed to making the vaccines available to everyone who lives or works in Long Beach and wants them. Our new mobile vaccination vans will enhance our outreach efforts to keep our homebound residents, seniors and at-risk individuals safe.”

Throughout the mobile vaccination stations there are multiple canopies and seats that are spaced out as waiting areas for individuals who are waiting for the vaccine to sit. Each vehicle at all three locations is self-contained to administer vaccinations to those who are of the age of 16 and older.  The clinic is equipped with proper supplies, vaccine storage units, tables, and hand-washing stations, which help the clinic run properly and efficiently.

If you or another loved one does not feel safe to visit one of these mobile vaccination clinics, then you are always welcomed to request an at home appointment. To do this, one must visit the cities website and fill out a request form, or call (562) 570-4636 for assistance. For further questions about this process, you may also email COVID19Vaccine@longbeach.gov.

For those who would like to be vaccinated but cannot make it to a mobile vaccination clinic site, the city is still offering scheduled appointments through the state’s MyTurn  website. Here, the website will walk you through a step-by-step process on what date, time, and location works best for you. If you need any other assistance about making an appointment for your vaccination, you can call 833-422-4255.

In the United States, 98 million people have fully gotten their vaccinations, and out of the 98 million, more than 114,000 vaccines have been administered to the City of Long Beach. With more than 53 percent of the city already having their first dose, Long Beach is looking to be in great shape for controlling the coronavirus.
