Dick Miller has lived a long, wonderful life. At 88, he is still very much alive and well, but on this particular day, surrounded by a half dozen of his closest friends, Dick Miller’s mind is preoccupied.
The City of Signal Hill and the City of Long Beach announced a joint event, “A Celebration of Peace and Unity,” on Saturday, Sept. 11, at the Unity Monument at 2271 Temple Ave., Signal Hill. The event begins at 9 a.m. and concludes at 11 a.m.
The average age of a person who dies of COVID-19 in Long Beach is now 59 years old, a decrease of 13 years compared with data from March 2020 through July 2021, where the average age of COVID-19-related deaths was 72.
