Chamber President Emeritus Randy Gordon Being “Roasted” Before Relocation to Utah

Randy Gordon, who led the Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce for 26 years as president and CEO before retiring in 2020, is being honored for his service to the community at a dinner on May 3 at the Westin Long Beach. The event is being organized by the Rotary Club of Long Beach, for which he served as its 88th president.

Randy and Nancy Gordon have sold their Long Beach home and are heading for St. George, Utah. They plan to maintain a place to stay in Huntington Beach as Randy continues as a part-time professional auctioneer who has, since 1993, raised more than $10 million at 400 nonprofit special events.

With cocktails at 5:30 and dinner at 6:30 p.m., the May 3 “roast” with an all-star cast of characters will benefit the Long Beach Rotary Charitable Foundation. The cost per attendee is $125 and tables of ten are available.

Contact the Rotary Club of Long Beach at (562) 436-8181 or email madrid@rotarylongbeach for reservations. Mail checks with attendee names to LB Rotary Charitable Foundation, 400 Oceangate #470, Long Beach, CA 90802.

Randy Gordon first joined Rotary International in 1982 with the Covina Rotary Club when he was the CEO of the Covina Chamber of Commerce. He would go on to be president of the club in 1989-90 and represented the club at the Rotary International Conference in Seoul Korea.

In 1994, when he moved to Long Beach to become president and CEO of the Long Beach Chamber, he joined the almost 400-member Rotary Club of Long Beach. He was elected its 2004-05 president during Rotary International’s centennial year.
