Women’s Rights

The PBS series “We’ll Meet Again” with Ann Curry, explores some of history’s most dramatic moments through the lives of those who lived through them; in each episode, the people featured are looking to reunite with someone who changed their life during those moments.

On Jan. 8, “The Fight for Women’s Rights” tells the stories of two women activists looking to reconnect with a mentor. The episode features Zoe Nicholson of Long Beach, a passionate feminist who has devoted her life to women’s rights.  In the early 80s, Zoe took part in a 38-day hunger strike to bring attention to the Equal Rights Amendment and she’s looking for the woman who inspired her to join the fast, Sonia Johnson.

She’s still a passionate activist as well as a published author.
