Pacific Coast Hwy. and Technology Pl. At a 4:18 p.m., traffic stop, police recovered a firearm and subsequently arrested a male adult suspect.

6000 block of Lewis Ave. At 7:28 p.m., a family dispute amped up to an assault by firearm on a woman. The suspect was arrested, the firearm recovered.

Monday, June 10

3585 N. Los Coyotes Diag. At 6:58 p.m., a fight at an ice cream location. A blood trail leading south from the crime scene was used to locate the victim last seen walking southbound past a gas station with three stab wounds to his back, but no victim found.

2400 block of Fashion Ave. At 7:30 p.m., an elderly person died in a house fire.

Tuesday, June 11

1100 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. At 2:17 a.m., after a dispute, police located evidence indicating a shooting had occurred, but the shooter went that-a-way.

Thursday, June 13

2700 block of Golden Ave. At 6:33 a.m., a male driver observed a motorcycle being stolen using a suspect vehicle. After confronting a man and woman potential cycle thieves, the driver followed the thievery vehicle, which escalated when the potential thief, male version, fired a gun. The driver then called police, who attempted to find the combo thief-shooter. That is all.

Friday, June 14

7th St. and Campus Dr. At 5:05 a.m., a motor vehicle struck an adult male bicyclist with the cyclist succumbing to injuries at the scene. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene. Detectives gathered to investigate.

Carson St. and Gundry Ave. At 10:38 p.m., an eastbound motor vehicle struck a male pedestrian crossing Carson Street outside of a crosswalk. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Saturday, June 15

LA River and Long Beach Blvd. At 8:50 a.m., after an argument, a man in an encampment was stabbed in the upper body. After rescue attempts, he was declared deceased.

Atlantic Ave. near Artesia Blvd. A midnight firebug did his thing to several vehicles in the vicinity.

Sunday, June 16

1000 block of Long Beach Blvd. An 8:55 p.m. call about a woman with a gun met a response by police, who found a woman armed with a firearm. Seeing police, she went into her residence. opening the door to point the gun at officers. When she barricaded inside her residence, SWAT deployed to deescalate. After four hours of this, SWAT deployed gas and the woman who’d been shot in the upper body surrendered and was taken into custody. A replica firearm was found; no officers or others were injured.

Wednesday, June 19

2300 block of Locust Ave. At 3:25 p.m., Myriam Zaragoza, a 43-year-old resident of Long Beach was shot in her upper body and died at the scene.

2600 Block of E. Anaheim St. At 6:32 p.m., after speaking with another man, Josue Manuel Matos, a 38-year-old resident of Long Beach was shot multiple times to his upper body, dying at the hospital.

1600 block of E. 4th St. At 9:57 p.m., a man with a gun fired shots into the air at the 2000 block of E. Ocean Boulevard, then ran to a residence in the area of Gaviota Avenue and Fourth Street and held a hostage. SWAT arrived and, with the help of hostage negotiators, safely rescued the uninjured hostage. Police then deployed gas and arrested Erick L. Smith, a 31-year-old resident of Los Angeles, booked for kidnapping, burglary, obstructing a peace officer, felon in possession of a firearm, assault with a firearm and false imprisonment. Bail: $1,200,000. The investigation is ongoing.

Thursday, June 20

700 block of Shoreline Dr. At 9:34 p.m., a man shot and missed another man, then fled.

Friday, June 21

200 block of Eagle St. At 9:21 p.m., two males fired shots from a dark colored sedan, what or why left in the sedan, though bullets were left at the scene.

2300 block of Locust Ave. At 9:50 p.m., A gunslinger in a car aimed at six people in two cars, hitting one of them, missing five others. First, a man, a woman and female juvenile in a vehicle were shot at, all shots missed. Shortly thereafter, a woman in another car with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the upper body and another man and female juvenile who were not hit showed up at the hospital.

Saturday, June 22

1400 block of Magnolia Ave. At 4:58 a.m., a shot was fired, no one hit, nobody knows not a thing.

9th and Chestnut Ave. At 10:30 a.m., police arrived to deal with a reportedly barricaded suspect, but no barricades were verified.

Sunday, June 23

Pacific Coast Hwy. and Santa Fe Ave. At 9:45 a.m., Juan Morales, 59, of Wilmington was struck by a vehicle and died. The suspect, his son, Juan Manuel Morales Jr., 35, of Pomona was arrested by Taser on the 1900 block of Artesia Boulevard on June 25. Bail: $2,350,000.

Cherry Ave. and Harding St. At 8:55 p.m., a group of motorcyclists blocked the roadway, argued with a passenger in a blocked vehicle, shooting him in non-life-threatening way, police finding him uncooperative at Long Beach Boulevard and E. 68th Way.
