South St. And Paramount Blvd. At 9 p.m., a man standing near the corner was shot by a shooter unknown. Four hours later, the victim self-transported to a local hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the lower body.
Sunday, October 27
Queensway Bridge. At 11 p.m., dozens of unpermitted rockets went “boom,” then more “boom” followed by additional “boom” for about 20 minutes.
Monday, October 28
400 block of W. 5th St. At 7:46 p.m., after a two-male fight, a combatant accidentally discharged a firearm, striking himself, the other fled, the firearm stayed.
500 block of Cherry Ave. At 9:58 p.m., a man demanded stuff, then discharged a firearm, striking the victim with a non-life-threatening wound to the upper body.
Tuesday, October 30
Long Beach Blvd. and Esther St. At a 12:42 a.m., two-man argument, as they walked away, one discharged a firearm, missing the other. All the parties took their early-morning leave.
Thursday, October 31
300 block of West 14th St. At 9 p.m., a 16-year-old boy standing on a sidewalk near 14th Street Park heard gunshots, realized he’d been hit on Halloween night. The boy’s family took him to a local hospital with a non- life-threatening upper body wound. Police found a crime scene, absent any suspect.
Orcutt Ave. near E. 69th St. At 11:15 p.m. as he slept, a homeless man with non-life-threatening stab wounds to his upper body was hospital bound. Orcutt indeed.
800 block Via Wanda. At 11:20 p.m., two vehicles shot at each other, the occupants, as cars don’t shoot. Later, a possibly involved man with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound self-transported to a local hospital.
Friday, November 1
Artesia Blvd. and Downey Ave. At 1:53 a.m., a woman was shot in a non-life-threatening way in the lower body. Officers were unable to locate a crime scene.
200 block of Pine Ave. At 2:09 a.m., several men attacked one man causing injuries, yet distressingly nowhere to be found after the act.
Downtown marina near the Queen Mary. A 7:11 p.m. “loud boom” and a fire aboard a 30-foot boat; seven people pulled from the water and unloaded at a dock. Four went to a hospital; three others refused further treatment. Crews extinguished the fire and towed it to isolation docks.
4700 block of Greenmeadow Rd. At 8:20 p.m., a 72-year-old man found “lying inside his residence with a gunshot wound to the upper body that appeared to be self-inflicted,” police said. He died at the scene. “Detectives, in coordination with the Department of the Medical Examiner, determined the wound was not self-inflicted.”
5400 Block of Long Beach Blvd. At 8:39 p.m., a gun toting person fired off shots for reasons known only to who knows who.
1000 Block of Amelia Dr. At 10:00 p.m., a man assaulted a woman he knew, topping it off with discharging a firearm into the air. Somehow, the shooter departed.
Saturday, November 2
Anaheim St. near Orange Ave. At 11:03 p.m., a westbound newer model Chevrolet Silverado hit and killed a pedestrian believed to be crossing outside of a marked crosswalk. The driver fled the scene.
3000 block of Lakewood Blvd. At 11:40 p.m., a woman driver heard presumed gunfire causing an accident. Officers unable to locate evidence of a shooting.
Sunday, November 3
300 block of West 14th St. At 1:10 a.m., in a familiar set of circumstances, a person with a gun used it to fire shots. So there.
Tuesday, November 5
1900 block of Lakewood Blvd. At 9 a.m., “the boss” of a well-known grocery store grabbed the gratis groceries in a basket carried by an alleged long-term shoplifter. The lifter punched back creating a face full-a “boss” blood. Other employees restrained the basket case until police arrived.
5200 block of Atlantic Ave. At 9:05 p.m., multiple calls about a shooting at someone unknown verified by recovered casings.
5300 block of Atlantic Ave. At 9:03 p.m., a walking-on-the-sidewalk-man shot by another man. At the hospital with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to the upper body, un-cooperation about details of the incident.
Artesia Blvd. and Los Angeles Riverbed. At 9:15 p.m., a man fought, then stabbed another with non-life-threatening wounds to the upper body. Elijah Fudge, 40, booked for attempted murder and obstructing a peace officer. Bail: $1,000,000.
Wednesday, November 6
1500 block of Ximeno Ave. At 10 p.m., a northbound pick-up truck collided head-on with a southbound transit bus carrying passengers. The bus driver was hospitalized as was the possibly impaired pick-up driver.
Thursday, November 7
1900 block of Cedar Ave. At 12:24 a.m., a man-woman argument settled with non-life-threatening stab wounds to the man’s upper body. The woman was arrested.
Los Angeles River and Anaheim St. At 5:09 p.m., a two-woman argument settled with non-life-threatening stab wounds to an upper body. The stabber fled.
Friday, November 8
1600 block of Harbor Ave. At 8:06 p.m., a blue southbound pick-up truck broadsided a white left-turning SUV. Male and female occupants of both vehicles were un-seriously injured.
Sunday, November 10
Los Angeles Riverbed. At 5:49 p.m., a 17-year-old male heard a loud possible gunshot, a non-life-threatening lower body gunshot wound resulted.
