Sunday, March 15

400 block of Pine Ave. At 6:45 p.m., a woman reported she was approached by the adult male suspect who forced her back into her vehicle in a parking structure, driving her to several unknown locations where sexual assault occurred. The white or Hispanic suspect, 35-40 years-of-age, blue eyes, bald, height 5’7” to 5’8”, medium build with tattoos all over his body in a white tank top, colorful beach shorts and white tennis shoes fled on foot.

Wednesday, March 18

Northbound 710 Fwy. south of Anaheim St. At 4 a.m., two big rigs collided causing a fire that shut down all northbound lanes for several hours, causing traffic from the International Bridge to the 710 to divert to Ocean Boulevard, which in turn, caused a traffic jam on that diverted two-lane escape route. By 6 a.m., the truck remains remained on the freeway, joined by several tow trucks. Nothing moving except tempers.

11th Street and Raymond Ave. A 4:15 a.m. LAPD pursuit for a suspected DUI driver ended as the driver crashed, bailed from the vehicle and was taken into custody. To add extra drama to the incident, three passengers bailed around Rose and 9th with several detained.

100 block Market St. At 4:30 p.m., a suspicious briefcase was left at fire station 11, which was evacuated and all the adjacent property from the fire station were evacuated. Streets in the area were blocked off as a drone equipped with anti-briefcase capability was enlisted to check it out. After all this, the bomb squad deemed the briefcase safe, and everything is opened up, possibly including the briefcase.

Thursday, March 19

8th St. between Terraine Ave. and Havana Ave. At 10:03 a.m., in a series of house break-ins, the burglars scored a Dodgers jacket, whom a person familiar with the case, “doesn’t deserve to wear it.” The Dodgers might agree.

Friday, March 20

6700 block of Long Beach Blvd. A 7 p.m. shooting with evidence left at the scene, much like the shooter, who also left the scene.

San Gabriel River Trail, south of the 405 Fwy. At 8:12 p.m., a male southbound motorcyclist traveling at a high rate of speed without a helmet or lights collided head-on with a male bicyclist traveling in the opposite direction on the trail. Ejected from their vehicles, both suffered critical injuries, receiving aid from bystanders. The motorcyclist later died from his injuries.

Saturday, March 21

6200 block of Pacific Coast Hwy. At 10:07 p.m., two men who likely knew each other tangled, one with non-life-threatening upper body stab wounds by a nowhere-to-be-found stabber.

Sunday, March 22

5200 block of Second St. A 12:43 a.m. “hallucinating woman” stirred up a “well behaved” a 250-count crowd.

Cherry Ave. and Pacific Coast Hwy. According to a witness, at 8:15 p.m., an early 20s man in a “muscle car” at a Taco Bell collided with another vehicle, then made a left turn to Stanley Ave. going “super-fast” with a loose front bumper, shooting sparks as it drove away. Additional police presence recommended for the area; a mechanic recommended for the car.

Monday, March 23

400 block of Ohio Ave. At 10:28 p.m., a man fired a shot and missed his intended male victim who he likely knew. The suspected shooter, Uziel Garciarazo, 23, of Long Beach was booked for assault with a firearm, possession of a controlled substance, taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent, contempt of court and outstanding warrants, all in the course of one alleged crime wave. Bail: $80,000.

Tuesday, March 24

Fourth St. and Ximeno Ave. At 12:57 p.m., as a 53-year-old female driver of a 2003 Toyota 4Runner turned onto Ximeno Avenue, she struck a pedestrian in a marked crosswalk, who was deceased at the scene. The driver remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Wednesday, March 25

300 block of Orange Ave. At 5:25 p.m., a man stabbed with an upper body non-life-threatening wound was treated. Nothing else to see here.

Friday, March 27

5800 block of Linden Ave. A 12:01 a.m., police canvas of a reported shooting scene, but were unable to locate evidence of a shooting. At 12:50 a.m., a self-transported teenage male with gunshot wounds to the upper body hospitalized in stable condition. Investigation indicated the incidents were related to a 5900 block of Atlantic Avenue crime scene; making the first call the wrong address, right ZIP code.

100 Ocean Blvd. At 4:22 p.m., “hide your daughters and stow your valuables! ... about 150 e-bike riders just left the Convention Center … two police cruisers tailing them.” Chased from Signal Hill, police from three divisions arrested a 17-year-old male for reckless driving; charged and cited five subjects for vehicle code violations and towed five illegal e-motos and one illegal pocket bike.

Del Amo Blvd. and Locust Ave. At 7:58 p.m., a man running into traffic lanes was hit and killed by a westbound 2023 Hyundai Tucson, the driver remaining at the scene.

Saturday, March 28

Orange Ave. and Willow St. In a 4:30 a.m. three car collision, a black car ended up at a Long Beach Municipal Cemetery gravestone, killing one occupant.
