4300 block Gundry Ave. Suspect driver flees after traffic stop; LBPD K9 officer helps take him into custody. 

April 9

710 freeway northbound at PCH, overturned big rig closes freeway for hours.

April 11

West LB Fatal vehicle collision: Driver southbound on Canal Ave. south of Esther St. hits parked vehicle occupied by a 56 year old woman who perishes; the driver (23 year old LB man) flees on foot but is taken into custody shortly after the collision, booked on suspicion of felony DUI.

405 fwy. southbound at Orange Ave. Multi-vehicle crash, no major injuries, one person possibly flees the scene.

April 12

605 freeway southbound at Spring St. LASD/CHP pursuit ends, began in Carson for alleged reckless driving, two suspects in custody.

April 14

San Gabriel River channel Small stunt plane makes emergency landing about 7:30 p.m. north of Wardlow Rd.  Engine trouble.  Clean landing.  Two aboard uninjured. 

April 15

Bellflower/Conant area Overnight catalytic converter theft.

1700 block Pine Ave., about 9:40 p.m., evidence of a shooting, no persons hit.

April 17

9th/Chestnut One man (possibly two) hit by gunfire and several vehicles hit.

Bellflower Blvd/Los Coyotes Diagonal Pursuit ends that started in Garden Grove; search nets a suspect

April 19

200 block E. Market St.  Shortly before midnight, man reportedly armed with long guns fires shots at a building on Market St. near Locust Ave.  Caller says suspect was pulling a wagon. Officers find casings.

April 21

2200 block Clark Ave. (north of Stearns/LCD):  At midday LBPD finds man in an alley with multiple puncture wounds from a shooting with a pellet gun.  LBPD arrests/books a 25 year old LB man for attempted murder.  Initial investigation indicates the two had a verbal dispute before the alleged shooting. PD expects to present its case to L.A. County District Attorney’s office in the coming days (and the DA’s office will decide what to do next.)

1500 block W. 19th St. (east of Santa Fe Ave., north of PCH).  At roughly 10:30 p.m. residence struck by gunfire; officers find strike marks and casings; no persons hit.

April 22

1400 block Summit St.(roughly 3 blocks from previous night’s W. 19th St. no-person-hit shooting.)  At about 5:30 a.m., man is shot/wounded, transported to hospital in stable condition.
