Residents forgetting to move their cars on street sweeping days will have to pay more starting October 1.

The fee for street sweeping will go from $60 to $70, according to the Department of Financial Management.

And fees for red, green and yellow curb violations will go from $59 to $69, the department added.

The increase was approved by the Long Beach City Council.

“It is part of an overall increase to revenues in the budget that helped to balance the budget,” according to the Department of Financial Management.

The City of Long Beach took in $14.9 million last year from all tickets, according to the Department of Financial Management.
