Donna M. Simpson Passes

Donna M. Simpson passed away unexpectedly at her Signal Hill home on Feb. 8 with her husband Eugene (Gene) by her side.

Donna was born on Oct 25, 1942 in Ute, Iowa to Frank and Norma Kraft. She went to Omaha University and started her career with Peter Kiewik and Sons in Omaha, NE. She continued to work there until she met Gene and started working at Gene Simpson Aircraft Sales. A move to Long Beach, CA gave them the opportunity to buy Auto Airport Parking at LAX. Together, they owned and operated the business for many years until retirement.

Donna and Gene were married for 36 years and traveled frequently all over the world. Donna was an avid reader, loved to spend time with her family and friends and was kind hearted. Donna will be missed by all here in California and in her hometown of Omaha, where she still maintained a home with her daughter Lori and grandchildren David and Ashley. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who never failed to call every night to chat with them, no matter where she was.

Donna was preceded by her parents, Frank and Norma, her brother Frank and nephew Michael.

She will be loved, missed and remembered by her husband, Gene Simpson, her daughter Lori Dawson, her two grandchildren David and Ashley Dawson, her sisters Shirley Westenorf (Neal), Patty Henrichs (Bob), sister in law Linda Kraft, Gene's daughters Suzanne Simpson and Judy Simpson (Ivan) and Gene's granddaughters Michelle Simpson and Lindsay Woodburn, along with numerous nieces and nephews whose lives were enriched by Donna's love.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Feb. 25 at 11:00 a.m. at The Grand, 4101 E. Willow St. in Long Beach, CA. Friends and family are invited to come and share their memories of this very special lady.
