Festival of Flight

A free celebration on Nov. 17, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. is open to the public at Long Beach Airport featuring food and beer trucks, static aircraft displays, and live entertainment, courtesy of Long Beach City College’s Jazz Combo, 1940s era vocal and dance troupe the Satin Dollz, and 80s tribute band Knyght Ryder. Aircraft on display will include a C-17 from March Air Force Base, Virgin Orbit’s “Cosmic Girl” 747, a Gulfstream G650, a Lockheed Model 10 Electra, the same model of airplane flown by Amelia Earhart, WW II-era warbirds, and much more. There are numerous free activities for kids, helicopter tours (for purchase) and much more. This year’s festival also kicks off LGB’s 95th Anniversary celebration, so you don’t want to miss it. Enter the west side of the airport via Wardlow Road (at Cherry).
