Free Addict Needles

Vance Frederick

I’m seriously wondering how life keeps on going in California when you have a government that decides that the best thing to do for addicts is to give them free needles so they won’t get diseases that can kill them.

Here’s an idea. Take them off the streets and put them where they can get off their habits and give them a chance at a real life. If incarceration and rehab isn’t working because of the corruption in jails why do jailers make very good money and great pensions? What kind of logic is that?

Get rid of the bums and find folks that want a good job that entails helping people to get back on their feet and becoming better citizens. If this doesn’t make sense then let’s continue to breed young people with no clue about life except that liberalism is great. If liberalism is so great why is the most beautiful state in the country a dumping ground for idiots? Yes, I mean our politicians.

Let’s stop the ridiculous idea that the schools are working as they are. You can’t teach a child how to be a smart and decent person by just throwing money at them and expecting them to be what you want.

It’s time to go back to basics with education and that doesn’t mean a math program conceived by someone good at computers. Drop the BS and get back to basics. Reading, writing and arithmetic are what brought up generation after generation of decent hard working citizens and that’s what we need. We don’t need kids that can’t find it within themselves to go another minute without a drug to make them feel better about themselves.

We need kids who can read by using phonics that taught myself and millions of other kids how to read. We need teachers who not only want to teach and make a living wage but who have curriculums that build thinking and active kids into thriving adults. That doesn’t happen with the schooling that’s being used extensively in this state. Results are confirming this on a moment by moment basis. Get new wave idiots out of making decisions and bring in people who want to help children thrive and become thinking adults. No, that doesn’t mean doing what California has been doing for the last several decades.

I grew up with difficult tasks presented over and over again to make me a more hard-working individual. Now all we have are whinny little kids who play on hand-held tech all day and have no clue how to live in the world and make a meaningful contribution to society when they can’t even make a living for themselves. This isn’t helping anybody.

Just because an idea is old doesn’t make it useless. In fact, those old ideas are what made this country great and I’d like to see it great again. Let’s go back and dig up some of those old history books, math books, English books, etc. and have a goal to make our schools and country a better place to be in once again.

If you agree, make your views known to anyone and everyone who will listen or not and make sure that California is on the leading edge of growth and improvement by getting back to what made this country great to begin with. That means decent people, hard work, a good Christian ethic and wanting to make life a place in which we all grow and breath deep the scent of freedom, justice and the real America we once were.

And, yes, I mean every word I’ve written. Let’s go back and use the ideals and ideas that brought so many great generations to the world. Drop your phone and tech and live in the world around you. That is what will make life a real and meaningful place for people again, instead of the thin screen bringing no more depth to one’s life than that screen posses.
