David Bingham, LA Galaxy goalkeeper, comes from a family of first responders and frontline heroes, his dad is a police officer and his sister is a nurse. When the COVID-19 pandemic took hold on the LA community, Bingham immediately took action and donated meals for first responders and healthcare workers.

On Tuesday, National Nurses’ Day, Bingham, in partnership with El Barrio’s Neighborhood Tacos in Redondo Beach, provided 70 taco bowls to the St. Mary Medical Center emergency department, intensive care unit and respiratory care team, who are committed to improving the health of our most critical patients during the COVID-19 pandemic.

El Barrio’s Neighborhood Tacos has matched donations from Bingham and various Galaxy players for every meal donated.

Carolyn Caldwell, St. Mary Hospital President, accepted the generous donation on behalf of the care team and noted how much Bingham’s generosity is appreciated.
