Long Beach Organic Celebrates 7th Annual Spring Garden Tour and Wine Tasting May 7

.LONG BEACH, Calif. – April 21, 2017 – For over twenty years, Long Beach Organic, Inc. (LBO) has provided a valuable resource to the residents of Long Beach, CA by transforming vacant city lots into organic community gardens for local and sustainable food production. At the peak of the spring season, LBO will provide a unique opportunity to celebrate their gardens with the 7th Annual Spring Garden Tour and Wine Tasting event on Sunday, May 7. Tour guests will travel by charter bus from Alamitos Bay to four out of the nine gardens operated by LBO.  Guests will enjoy a healthy menu of delectable dishes freshly prepared with vegan-friendly garden and farmer's market ingredients, a variety of premium California wine and live music at every stop.

The 7th Annual Spring Garden Tour and Wine Tasting event will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and is open to the public. The charter bus pick-up and drop-off will take place at Alamitos Bay, in the parking lot closest to The Crab Pot at 215 N. Marina Dr. Long Beach, CA 90803. Space is limited and RSVP is required at reservations@longbeachorganic.org.

The cost to attend for non-LBO members is $125 which includes a 1-year membership to the organization. Current LBO gardeners can attend with one guest for $115. Each fee is rendered a donation and is tax-deductible. LBO is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation.

The 7th Annual Spring Garden Tour and Wine Tasting will feature live music by Little Radios, Onstage Music Academy and the Long Beach Community Band Saxaphone Quartet.

From the downtown area to the north side of Long Beach, residents may rent plots to grow their own produce, flowers, and plants. As plots become available, residents are welcome to invest a nominal donation each season to become volunteer community gardeners and members of LBO.  Community gardeners donate their time on a daily basis to tend to their garden plots, harvest, help develop and shape the gardens and support the organization. However, one does not have to be a gardener to volunteer for LBO. There are various openings in other areas. The signature garden tour and wine tasting event is a great way to meet and socialize with the gardeners and learn more about the organization.
