The City of Long Beach will soon be celebrating 50 years of high-speed racing, as tickets for the 2025 Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach officially go on sale.

The announcement of the Grand Prix’s 50th Anniversary was made to the public on Oct. 30, with a statement made by officials of the race, including Grand Prix Association of Long Beach President & CEO Jim Michaelian. According to Michaelian, the upcoming 2025 race – April 11-13 – will surely be a spectacle to behold – not just for the vast history behind the race, but for the promise of it being one fans will not soon forget.

“Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach is a monumental milestone for our city, our fans and the racing community,” said Michaelian. “We’re thrilled to bring an incredible lineup of special events and fan experiences that honor our history – which we will be announcing in the coming weeks – while showcasing the thrill of racing at its finest. This year’s event will not only reflect on five decades of unforgettable moments but also deliver an exciting, action-packed weekend that promises to make this anniversary a truly memorable one for everyone involved.”

The race weekend will feature the third round of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES with celebrated drivers such as defending Long Beach Grand Prix winner Scott Dixon, past Long Beach winners Josef Newgarden, Colton Herta and Will Power. Other drivers that will be returning to the 1.97-mile, 11-turn circuit will be defending Series champion Alex Palou, and 2024 Rookie of the Year Linus Lundqvist.

The racing weekend will also include the third and fourth rounds of the GT America Series, as well as the third round of the IMSA Weathertech Sportscar Championship.

Outside of the traditional races and events fans get to see at the Long Beach Grand Prix, the 50th Anniversary will also feature its first-ever Historic Formula Exhibition, a unique race that pits cars from three different generations of open-wheel racing against one another. This includes cars from Formula 5000, Formula 1 and, of course, INDYCAR.

According to the Historic Motor Sports Association (HMSA) President Cris Vandagriff, whose association is responsible for the exhibition’s organization, the historic race is made to be a tribute to the heritage of open-wheel racing in Long Beach.

“This year’s event is such a great celebration: the 50th anniversary Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach,” said Vandagriff. “It will be great showcasing the cars that have made motorsports an event to celebrate in Long Beach. We will have a great field representing cars that have been a big part of the Grand Prix’s history.”

Off the track, and free to all race attendees, will be the popular Lifestyle Expo which will feature more than 100 exhibitors reported to offer some of the latest developments in automotive, home, recreation, travel and entertainment products and services. The Lifestyle Expo will also hold a large family fun zone that, according to their official website, will hold interactive games, simulators, kids’ race cars, a video arcade, action sports demonstrations and other attractions inside the Long Beach Arena.

Tickets for the 50th Annual Long Beach Grand Prix are on sale right now via their official website, with general admission ranging from $54-$143 per ticket, and reserved seating ranging from $125-$213.
