K.C. Branaghan’s is Fantastic
In Long Beach there are a few places that you must attend for drinks and food, K.C. Branaghan’s is definitely one of them. The Shepard’s Pie at this pub is wonderful and their macaroni and cheese is thick, smooth and irresistible. The entire menu is superb.
But, of course, K.C. Branaghan’s at 5734 E. 2nd St. has great food; everybody knows that. However, what makes this place a Long Beach gem is the people who work and localize the place. So much character in one room makes for a memorable time with friends and family. The entire staff is chock full of personality, friendly and always makes you feel like you made the right choice when you pay them a visit.
For the beer connoisseur, may I suggest to you a perfectly poured Guinness. K.C. Branaghan’s specializes in pouring a perfect Guinness every time. This is important. They have other Irish favorites like Harp, Kilkenny and Magners, so your taste buds have a variety of flavors to enjoy.
And, of course, their full bar boasts an enormous selection of premium Irish and Scottish whiskeys, too many to name. Reasonably priced quality drinks make it yet another reason the locals hold the barstool down so well and frequent Branaghan’s so often.
I have seen some of them order these unique martinis that seem to be quite desirable. I know what to get on my next visit to Branaghan’s. For research, of course, take one for the team and that sort of silliness.
But what is the difference between a pub and a bar? The answer is: not much. A bar usually offers minimal menus with appetizers and snacks, while a pub will showcase more filling and hearty meals. This puts pubs somewhere between bars and restaurants.
Also, because of a pub’s full menu, a pub generally allows minors, if accompanied by an adult. Then there is the noise factor. Bars tend to like loud music whereas pubs are a little more subdued with the tunes. Branaghan’s has great music in the background that doesn’t dominate over conversation.
Branaghan’s knows the importance of a comfortable ambiance for their customers. No wonder Long Beach residents love this place so much.
I have tried to be as vague as I can about K.C. Branaghan’s Irish Pub and Restaurant in an attempt to not annoy everyone with stating the obvious as to how great this place is but also to keep a little mystery for those who haven’t journeyed through their doors. It is definitely worth your time.
Branaghan’s is one of those places that makes Long Beach one of the coolest cities in Southern California and the world. I will see you there.
Go eat and drink for yourself.
