Vote 4 Newsom

In reference to a letter from Leo Mitchell in the latest Beachcomber [May 26], Leo says he doesn’t care if California is highest in the nation in welfare recipients, poverty rate, gas tax, income tax, state tax, homelessness, illegal immigrants, as well as billions unaccounted for and billions in   the state deficit. But Leo would vote for Newsom again because he is a Democrat!

If that wasn’t complete sarcasm, then Leo and Democrats like him are idiots. Think before you vote. Voting just Democrat because you are one is why California is such a mess.

July 4 Fireworks

From Granada Beach, we could see all three and did anyone notice the three were set up to be identical shows? I thought it was a technical success. Compared to the sardine-packed, traffic-jammed crowds of past years in Naples and Shoreline Village, a very fun night.

Last night at the beach was disgusting. While it has always been crazy for the 4th of July, this was beyond.

Long Beach was careless and greedy to host three different firework shows on the coastline at the same time. The city was asking for crowds and crime that they could not control. All that did was cost the city and homeowners money, damage and disgust.

I will never spend another 4th of July on Long Beach beaches again.

Newport was mayhem! I lived there, sold my house in 2018 and moved here. I lived on the peninsula and it was the worst. Thank God I got out of there when I did.

I feel I made the best decision, love my neighborhood and it was quiet. On my street no one blew off any fire crackers or fireworks.

Fireworks were absolutely fantastic last night! And the three shows seemed to really spread out the crowd – not packed like sardines at all. We encountered nothing but respect and community!
