Letters to the Editor
Atta Girl
This short note is to tell you that I very much enjoy Ms. Burnett’s columns. Her topics are always interesting, and although I am not a historian, her statements seem factual to me.
What I do know is that her writing is coherent and graceful, making it effortless and enjoyable to read.

Common Sense Lives
In response to Marshall Blesofsky’s “Trump Victory” letter published Nov. 15, 2024: With all due respect, Donald Trump’s victory had very little to do with our economic history and our capitalist system. The “average” American voter (myself included) weren’t thinking of the telecommunications technology enabling jobs to migrate to other countries, nor the deindustrialization of the rust belt states.
The voting majority saw the death of common sense. Well-known Democrat Bill Maher hit the real reason on the head when he recently stated on his show, that “The Democrats will hand the presidency to Trump because of the left’s over-the-top lunacy,” which began with the overly-offended, the Antifa movement, the toppling of historic statues, demonic statues being placed in front of civic buildings, the government dumping thousands of foreigners into small towns, late-term abortions, the removal of the Pledge of Allegiance in schools, Pride flags in classrooms, drag queens reading to children in libraries, Black Lives Matter is okay but All Lives Matter is not okay. The list goes on and on.
But the real icing on the cake is the millions and millions of illegal aliens being allowed to enter our country and receive government benefits.
Those things, and more, are exactly why Republican voters in 38 states had enough. Trump is not a career politician. He is an excellent businessman who ran the U.S. like a company in his previous term, and hopefully, will do the same thing again.

Election Is Over
The election is over; the name calling is done. Your party lost; my party won.
So let us be friends; let arguments pass. I’ll hug my elephant; you kiss your ass.
