Player of the Week: Barry Ogalue, Men’s Basketball – Senior Barry Ogalue poured in 20 points to lead Long Beach State in scoring as the Beach opened the season with an 83-71 win on the road at San Francisco.

Women’s Volleyball (9-19, 6-9 Big West)
Won vs. UC Riverside, 3-2
Won vs. Cal State Fullerton, 3-0
* The Beach put a pair of wins together on the weekend, making it three consecutive home victories for LBSU. The wins were the first back-to-back victories of Big West play for the Beach, setting up the regular season finale this Saturday.

Men’s Basketball (1-0)
Won at San Francisco, 83-71
* Friday’s win against San Francisco was the first victory in a season opener on the road for Long Beach State since the 1986-87 season.

Women’s Basketball (0-2)
Lost vs. Pepperdine, 83-71
Lost vs. Montana State, 62-51
* Despite a pair of losses to open the season, LBSU had several bright spots along the way as freshman Emma Merriweather recorded a double-double (11 pts, 13 rebs) against Pepperdine, and freshman Shanaijah Davison poured in a 20 point performance versus Montana State.

No. 7 Men's Water Polo (14-11, 3-2 Golden Coast)
Won at No. 6 UC Irvine, 8-7
* Finishing up the regular season, the Beach picked up an 8-7 Golden Coast Conference win over No. 6 UC Irvine Friday night. Austin Stewart netted three goals to give the edge to Long Beach State. 

Cross Country
at NCAA West Regional
* Women finished in 28th place (36 teams). Mikayla Florez placed 104th overall (21:41.7).
* Men finished in 29th (30 teams). George Martinez placed 111th overall (31:46.3).

Women’s Tennis
at CSUN Fall Tournament
* The Beach concluded the fall season with a strong showing at the CSUN Tournament. Four players advanced to the quarterfinals of the consolation bracket, winning three of four singles draws.
