Man Murdered Downtown

On July 22 at 2:31 a.m. Long Beach Police Officers were called to the area of 4th Street and Maine Avenue regarding reports of gunshots being heard. When officers arrived they located a male adult laying in the street with a gunshot wound to his upper torso. 

The Long Beach Fire Department was called to the scene and determined the subject to be deceased. 

Homicide detectives responded to the scene for the investigation. The incident is being investigated as possibly gang related.

The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification to next of kin.
