The Nodaway Valley middle school girls were well represented at the Junior High State Track Meet, May 7.

Lexi Shike captured first place in the seventh grade 200m hurdles. The 4x200m team of Jena Yonker, Natalie Yonker, Paisley Kintigh and Shike captured first place in the eighth grade division. NV had to run in the eighth grade field, as Kintigh is an eighth grader at NV. The 4x200m team set a new school record.  Natalie Yonker placed second in the seventh grade long jump and fourth in the 200m, while Jena Yonker was sixth in the seventh grade 400m.  Mallory Kuhns finished ninth in the eighth grade 400m and came back to run a personal best in finishing 16th in the 1500m run. Kuhns also ran a personal best, finishing in 17th place, in the 800m.  The 4x100m foursome of Yonker, Yonker, Kintigh and Shike set a new eighth grade record in finishing third.  *No times or distances available at press time.
