Steve Downing is a fine columnist and friend. A person whose integrity and honesty are of the highest caliber. What happened to me on July 6 should never happen in Long Beach or anywhere in a civilized world. When the Long Beach Police are reckless enough to be used by a vindictive landlord (one who committed felony fraud) in this fashion no one in Long Beach is safe in their own home. I or my beloved pets could have been killed that day easily.

We hear about such incidents all the time. Thank you Beachcomber for your continued attention to police misconduct and making Long Beach a better place.
