Player of the Week: Josh Tuaniga, Men’s Volleyball – Josh Tuaniga led the top-ranked Beach to a 3-1 road victory over No. 2 UCLA with a double-double after notching 57 assists and a career-high 13 digs. He was an integral component in LBSU’s .408 attack percentage as he piloted the offense in another solid outing.

Gabe Levin hit a pair of milestones last week, becoming just the 12th player in school history to record 1,000 points and 500 rebounds at LBSU.

Won vs. Hawaii, 85-80 (OT)
The Beach have won three straight contests and four of their last six games to make a run for the Big West Conference Tournament. With a 4-10 conference record, Long Beach State is currently in a tie for the seven seed heading into the final week of the regular season.
No. 1 Men’s Volleyball (14-0)
Won at No. 2 UCLA, 3-1 [25-21, 23-25, 25-19, 25-21]
Long Beach State breezed through the non-conference portion of its schedule winning 14 straight matches marking the third-best start in program history.
Baseball (2-5)
Lost vs. USC, 5-1
Won at No. 7 TCU, 3-2
Lost at No. 7 TCU, 8-3
Lost at No. 7 TCU, 5-2
Long Beach State took the first game at TCU thanks to 7.1 strong innings from sophomore Zak Baayoun, who has won both games for LBSU this season. Senior DH Luke Rasmussen was also instrumental in the win, hitting a solo home run and scoring twice.

Long Beach State picked up a second win over a ranked opponent, defeating No. 12 Auburn 6-3 behind a pair of RBI from sophomore Taylor Rowland.

Lost vs. No. 9 Michigan, 8-6
Win vs No. 14 San Diego State, 10-6

Virginia Smith scored nine goals over the weekend as the Beach went 2-2 at the Barbara Kalbus Invitational. Alexandra Massier scored four goals as LBSU defeated San Jose State 9-7 in overtime on Sunday.

Freshman Sadaf Sadeghvaziri won her singles match in the No. 5 spot as she recorded the lone point for the Beach last week.
Indoor Track & Field
LBSU track competed at the MPSF Championships in Seattle. The women’s 4x400 relay team tied the school record in the event, which had stood for 12 years. De’Ondra Young was the top finisher for the Beach, taking fourth in the women’s weight throw.
