Way Beyond Cake Bakery located on 6761 E. Carson St. in Lakewood, is revolutionizing the game by offering dye-free, plant-based, unrefined and unprocessed baked goods which not only satisfy your sweet tooth but also provide vitamins and nutrients usually lost in processed treats. By using 85 percent of organic ingredients, owner and pastry chef Linda Ikeda utilizes fruit and veggie juices like beets and raspberry for coloring instead of regular food coloring.

The artisan bakery is also free of common food allergens such as peanuts, dairy, eggs, wheat, soy and shellfish, which helps those who have dietary restrictions indulge in fresh flavor satisfying treats. Whether it’s a nut or gluten allergy or simply a dietary choice, Ikeda keeps everyone in mind when creating her pastries.

Ikeda began her journey of plant-based, gluten-free healthier eating due to personal health issues. By creating Jumpstart Bodyfuel, she eventually gained an eCommerce audience who shared her love for her vegan and gluten-free baked goods which later made their way to grocery store shelves and coffee shops around SoCal.

Mid-June 2018, Ikeda opened the doors to Way Beyond Cake Bakery with the mission to provide delicious food made with clean, nutritious and ethically-sourced ingredients for people pursuing a healthy, vegan and gluten-free lifestyle. Since Way Beyond Cake products are minimally processed, they don’t lose nutrients in their batch-made treats like all store-favorite highly-processed snacks, which need to have vitamins re-added after processing.

From mouthwatering cakes, cupcakes and muffins, to delectable cookies and convenient protein bars, Way Beyond Cake Bakery offers decadent treats for every day indulging without the guilt. Just a bite from one of the many baked goodies will make you realize not everything vegan or gluten-free must lack in flavor.

Cake flavors include dark chocolate, vanilla and carrot topped with freshly made vegan fondants. Way Beyond Cake Bakery is closed on Sundays and Mondays but are open from 10 am. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Fridays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays.
