Town Hall Forum on Term Limits & Measure BBB

The Long Beach Reform Coalition (LBRC) will officially launch the NO on Measure BBB campaign at a Town Hall forum on Thursday at the Long Beach Petroleum Club.

Preceding the Town Hall, in front of the club, we will hold a press conference devoted to the outcome of City-initiated litigation (scheduled for final disposition at a court hearing on Sept. 5th at the Downtown LA Central District Superior Courthouse) against members of our coalition who authored and signed on to sample ballot arguments against proposed charter amendments Measure AAA (City Auditor’s Authority) and Measure DDD (Citizen Redistricting Commission).

While the focus of LBRC for this November’s election will be on the defeat of Measure BBB (we jointly wrote the argument against BBB), we stand in solidarity with our coalition members. We intend to expose the failure of the City of Long Beach to follow proper procedures and its subsequent attempt, far beyond the ordinary facts-based editing process, to silence free political debate on these important changes to our civic constitution.
