This Week at LB State

Player of the Week: Dana Fujikuni, Women’s Soccer – Senior Dana Fujikuni scored in both games of the Big West Tournament, earning MVP honors as Long Beach State won the championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the seventh time in program history.

Senior Imani McDonald recorded back-to-back postseason shutouts as the Beach won the Big West Tournament for the fourth time, and the second time in the last three years.   

Women’s Volleyball (13-13, 5-8 Big West)
Lost vs. Hawaii, 3-1 [25-19, 21-25, 17-25, 19-25]
Tyler Spriggs led all scorers with 18 kills in a four-set loss to Hawaii, while Hailey Harward collected a double-double with 10 kills and 15 digs.

No. 8 Men’s Water Polo (9-11, 2-2 GCC)
Won at No. 5 Pacific, 14-13 (OT)
Won at No. 20 San Jose State, 11-8
 Freshman Garrett Zaan extended his consecutive goals in a game streak to ten, while junior Austin Stewart had himself a five goal weekend over the two game span.
