This Week at Long Beach State

 

Player of the Week: Tyler Spriggs, Women’s Volleyball – Tyler Spriggs recorded a career-high 23-kills in Long Beach State’s four-set win over UC Davis as she hit .417 on the night. She finished the week with 30 kills on .309 hitting, while adding 11 digs, eight blocks and four aces.

 

Women’s Soccer (6-4-2)

Won at Hawai’i, 3-2

Long Beach State extended their unbeaten streak against the Rainbow Wahine to 10 games with a 3-2 win on the road in Honolulu last week.  

 

Women’s Volleyball (11-8, 3-3 Big West)

Lost vs. UC Irvine, 3-1 [25-19, 17-25, 22-25, 22-25]

Won vs. UC Davis, 3-1 [25-21, 18-25, 25-21, 25-19]

The Beach got back on the winning track with a four-set win over UC Davis which snapped a three-match losing skid. Tyler Spriggs led all scorers with a career-high 23 kills, while Carly Aigner-Swesey registered a double-double (36 assists, 10 digs).

 

Men’s Water Polo (6-5, 0-1 Golden Coast Conference)

Lost vs. Pepperdine, 10-8

The Beach were led by senior Keegan Wicken, who had two goals on the night along with junior Johnathan Wong, who also had two goals on the night.

Freshman Dominique Meyer and junior Natalia Munoz each went 6-2 overall at the Beach Tennis Tournament, both going 3-1 in singles and finishing 3-1 together in doubles.
