This Week at Long Beach State

Player of the Week: Hunter Epson, Men’s Golf – Hunter Epson won his first-ever individual title after shooting 13-under par at the Nick Watney Invitational. Epson won the tournament after sinking a birdie on the second sudden death playoff hole for the win.

Women’s Soccer (3-8-0, 1-1-0 Big West)
Won at Cal Poly, 2-1
Lost at UCSB, 1-0
The Beach won its Big West opener in thrilling fashion as Elysia Laramie scored two goals in the span of the 32 seconds to turn a late 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 win over Cal Poly. Laramie scored in the 84th and 85th minute to lead LBSU to victory, giving her two game-winning goals in two career matches against the Mustangs.

 Women’s Volleyball (4-11, 1-2 Big West)
Won at CSUN, 3-1 [20-25, 25-20, 25-20, 25-22]
Long Beach State snapped a six-match losing streak and picked up its first Big West Conference win of the season. The Beach were led by Kashauna Williams (19 kills), Avery Nelson (18 kills) and Hailey Harward (22 digs) in the four-set win.

 No. 8 Men’s Water Polo (10-7)
Lost at No. 2 UCLA, 11-7
Men’s Water Polo will play at home in the Ken Lindgren Aquatics Center for the first time this season on Saturday, hosting No. 1 Stanford at Noon.
