This Week at Long Beach State

Player of the Week: Hailey Harward, Women’s Volleyball – Hailey Harward tied her career-high with 27 digs in a five-set match against UC Davis to bring her week’s total to 54. In the process she became the fourth playing in school history to record 1,500 career digs. 

Women’s Soccer (4-12-1, 2-5-1 Big West)
Lost at CSUN, 1-0
Tied vs. Hawai’i, 1-1
The Beach ended its season with a 1-1 draw against Hawai’i on Senior Day. Long Beach State took a lead in the 42nd minute on a penalty kick goal from Elysia Laramie, who scored five of her team-leading six goals during Big West play.

Women’s Volleyball (8-15, 5-6 Big West)
Lost at UC Santa Barbara, 3-1 [22-25, 25-22, 29-31, 15-25]
Won vs. UC Riverside, 3-0 [25-18, 25-18, 25-16]
Lost vs. UC Davis, 3-2 [23-25, 25-17, 25-21, 23-25, 13-15]
Long Beach State was led by Kashauna Williams who averaged 4.92 kills per set and Carly Aigner-Swesey who paced LBSU with 9.92 assists per set and 2.33 digs per set.

Men’s Water Polo (14-11, 1-2 GCC)
Won vs. No. 9 UC San Diego, 12-10
Lost vs. No. 3 Pacific, 13-12
Lost vs. No. 8 Cal, 11-10 (2OT)
Won vs. Long Beach City, 14-7
Long Beach State finished off their home slate with a pair of good wins and a pair of heartbreaking losses, falling by one goal each to No. 3 Pacific and No. 8 Cal. 

Women’s Tennis, Idle

Cross Country, at Big West Championships
Men: 6th out of 8 teams
Women: 7th out of 9 teams
Seniors Michael Simpson and Alyssa Allen were the top finishers for Long Beach State as cross country competed in the Big West Championships hosted by UC Riverside. 

Women’s Golf, at Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown
3rd out of 18 teams
Senior Maria Davis and Sophomore Hunter Pate shared the Long Beach State team lead, both finishing in a tie for 11th overall as the Beach finished third out of 18 teams at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown to close the fall portion of their schedule.
