Wetlands Swap

I’ve had my differences with the Los Cerritos Wetlands Trust people in the past. Specifically it was about the treatment the owner of the dirt lot next to the Belmont Shore Mobile Estates received.

But today, this organization deserves high praise for their efforts to secure the acreage exchange with an oil company that we read about in the Beachcomber. If you have seen Bolsa Chica Wetlands you get a feel for what this could be for the area. Amazing.

We see letter writers criticizing this move because a dastardly oil company is involved and of course it’s all tied to “Global Warming.” A theory that cannot be proven or defended with transparency is not justification for taking away people’s freedoms.
