On July 23, 1922, City Auditor Myrtelle Gunsul rose at 5 a.m. to be the first to move into the new City Hall. Other departments scheduled to move were the offices of the city manager, Purchasing Department, Recreation, Civil Service, City Clerk, Water Department, Tax and License Collector.
Don’t panic! This prediction has nothing to do with the tsunami generated by a volcano near Tonga, which the California coast and other areas of the world experienced on Jan. 15th. However, it does perhaps have ties to another tsunami that struck Tonga on April 30, 1919.
On Jan. 21, at 5:47 p.m., officers responded to an injury traffic collision in the area of Bellflower Boulevard and Beach Drive, resulting in the death of a male adult.
