The bike lanes added in both directions on Bellflower Blvd. have shown another example of our city leaders willfulness to spendthrift our taxes on a project that has resulted in very few even riding the bike lanes between the Atherton St. and Colorado St. Meanwhile a bundle is spent maintaining the green buoys placed between the roadway and bike paths as they are damaged frequently. Yet there are very few bicycle riders ever seen on this portion of these newly installed bike lanes. I suspect that the low usage is prevalent throughout the whole bike lane system they have installed without citizen/voter feedback or approval. Likely we will see scooter lanes being installed next between the bike lanes and roadways.
