Though I live in Huntington Beach my heart is in Long Beach. I love, and write, about the city’s history and worry that neighboring Huntington Beach is not doing enough to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus.
In response to repeated disparaging letters regarding the replacement (with reduced amenities) of Long Beach’s Public Olympic pool opened in 1968: I worked at the Belmont Plaza Pool, as did my older siblings from 1975-1981. There was a “floating staff” of up to 20 then.
This issue occurred March 11 at the Chevron gas station at 11529 E. Carson St. in Lakewood, owned by Malty International Group, LLC. (When) my daughter visited that station, her car was running fine. She put in approximately eight gallons of gas.
Shouldn’t it be a municipal infraction to falsely claim coronavirus to garner a rent concession, unlawful detainer postponement, special treatment of any other kind from other person’s landlords, civic officials, police or others?
Words cannot describe my immense disappointment in the board of trustees for dragging down Long Beach City College, a community college that many people in Long Beach spent decades improving.
